Pretty much everywhere.....

....its gonna be hot.

I love this youtube video.  It has been around for awhile, but it makes me laugh every time.  If it doesn't make you laugh, then watch it about 10 times in a row.  I promise (or I hope), it will eventually be hilarious to you as well.  What makes it greater for me...is that for us it is an accurate forecast...pretty close at least.

Enjoy.

We glorify God by...

“We glorify God by working out our own salvation. God has twisted together his glory and our good. What an encouragement is this to the service of God, to think, while I am hearing and praying, I am glorifying God; while I am furthering my own glory in heaven, I am increasing God’s glory.

Would it not be an encouragement to a subject, to hear his prince say to him, You will honour and please me very much, if you will go to yonder mine of gold, and dig as much gold for yourself as you can carry away? So, for God to say, Go to the ordinances, get as much grace as you can, dig out as much salvation as you can; and the more happiness you have, the more I shall count myself glorified.”

The Biodiversity of XSBN

One of the cool things about where we are currently living is that most of the biodiversity within CHN is found in our prefecture (aka county). Most of the cash crops in this area are tropical in nature, mostly consisting of Banana and Rubber Trees.

If you knew me at all during my years in undergrad you might remember me throwing out a scientific plant name every once in a while, as a good portion of my education consisted in memorizing Latin plant names.

I was browsing the internet a few days ago and found a variety of passion flower that is named after our prefecture (Xishuangbanna). I though it was cool.
