If you want to know a little about the training camp we are staying at, you will have needed to watch the hit T.V. show LOST. Someone pointed out that the training camp is eerily familiar to the Dharma living quarters, and I whole heartily agree.
Here is another.

We made it, and....
We made it! We're here! We're out of the car!
As you read in Logan's previous post, we are here at our temporary home. I am a bit overwhelmed right now, looking at the schedule and not really knowing what all is about to be asked of us here at training. I think the days will be full, to say the least. But we're closer to that goal we've set and desired--getting overseas--and so these next months will be worth it.
But there is a little tug at my heart for home. It isn't that I'm homesick. I have come to learn that home is where you are at the time, especially since Logan and I have lived in 4 locations (not counting this one) since we have been married, which isn't quite 2 years. And I also know that Logan and I are building our own home, no matter where we are. And on top of that, even if we were to go back to the Lbk, eventually most of our friends would move away, and so even that home would be different. And most of our extended family is scattered about Texas, and even the country. So it isn't as if we could go back and be immersed in the middle of all of our family members again.
But as we sat in the cafeteria at dinner, with three other couples who all knew each other from their orientation, I not only felt like the nerdy kid who never fit really in, but also I longed for our dear friends "back home." So this is really just to say "thank you" to all of those "back home" who have loved us and cared for us. To our small group members and friends at church who have prayed for us and continue to pray for us, thank you. To our friends who have cooked dinner for us or taken us out to eat, helped us move furniture (taken furniture off our hands), offered to help in any way possible as we moved, thank you. To our friends who have showered us with hugs, cards, letters, and encouragement, thank you. To our friends who put up w/ our strange personalities, thank you.
I am thankful for the people that God has put in our life. I know that there will continue to be good friendships made, but to those who have been with us thus far, you are loved deeply and appreciated. I miss you already.

We have arrived...
I am pleased to announce to everyone that Daryl-Ann and I have arrived in Richmond, Virginia, our temporary home away from home away from home away from... you get the idea.
We had a great trip. Thankfully the car did not break down or Daryl-Ann get sick and puke her guts out. Not to mention the Red Roof Inn that we stayed a night in had somewhat clean sheets!
We stayed two nights with Hayden and Callie Lavo in Dayton, TN , which was awesome! They seriously live in a cabin in the woods. I felt like we were on vacation.
Richmond is cold, slightly wet, and still beautiful. I felt as close to a hobbit wandering through the Shire as I probably ever will (although I am still hopeful). All that to say, we are having a good time. We are overwhelmed by all the stuff we will be doing over the next few months, and making friends can be a challenge for these Heinrichs, but none the less we are grateful to God for his leading us here. Keep us in your prayers.

A Word of Gratitude
(This is [in part] new edition of a previous post for our new readers.)
Daryl-Ann and I are greatly honored by all of you who have been involved with this exciting part of our lives. Everywhere we go we are encouraged by people committing to pray for us, and offering to help out with anything we might need. I want to specifically thank the Tidwell family and everyone who joined us in our sending off party. Your labor of love will not be forgotten.
Our plans are as follows: We leave for Richmond on Friday January 23, 2009. We have already reserved our international tickets and will be leaving the states officially on April 14. This will put us back in Lubbock for a few weeks before we are officially out of the country.
Daryl-Ann and I greatly appreciate and desperately need your prayers as this will be a huge transition for us. We trust that as we leave our friends, family, and the land we know that Christ will supply everything we need to live a fruitful, joy-filled life. That which we loose in this life Jesus will fill up on our behalf, if not in this life then in the life to come. Please join us in this task and never cease to pray for us. Not only us, but all those God will raise up to take his glorious message to the world. Partner with us by joining this cause by esteeming Jesus as more valuable than anything on earth and living in a way that demonstrates Christ love to all mankind.
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11

Evil and the Purposes of God
“The mystery of iniquity is at work in the world during this interim time, and it is not always clear how its malignant work is being checked, overridden, or woven into the glorious purposes of God. We need to remember, though, that while Judas betrayed Christ, and woe to him for doing so, it was God’s plan that Christ was thus betrayed. Evil by its very nature opposes the purposes of God, but God, in his sovereignty, can make even this evil serve his purposes.”

Another one ties the knot...
For those of you who know Hayden Lavo, who is one of my best friends and was the best man in my wedding, he is getting married tomorrow to Ms. Callie Dirks.

Congratulations Hayden for finding the woman of your dreams and thank you for many years of good friendship. We all look forward to seeing where God is going to take you and Callie for his glory and your maximum joy.

Snip, snip
From about the middle of my senior year in high school until last week (about 5 years), I worked on growing out my hair. Mainly because I was tired of short hair, and I knew that if I ever was to get married, I would want to be able to wear my hair "up." But on December 19th, after my last day at work, I cut off 13 inches. Enjoy the after and before pictures, since that's the order they loaded on the blog page. :)
And actually, Logan cut his hair today too...so that top picture isn't even "current."

So Long Day Break...
On the 18th of this month I closed a meaningful chapter in my life. I worked at Day Break Coffee Roasters for 4 1/2 years. Leaving was mixed with a lot of heaviness, and gleeful anticipation for the years to come. A few days before my last day, one of my beloved customer/friends brought me this cake.

Thank you Dr. Lewis Held for your consistency in always brightening my day. There are too many people who I have got to know very well that I will miss greatly.
